Commentary As Books Sanctum (Asylum #2)

In this haunting, fast-paced sequel to the New York Times bestselling photo-illustrated novel Asylum, three teens must unlock some long-buried secrets from the past before the past comes back to get them first. Featuring found photographs, many from real vintage carnivals, Sanctum is a mind-bending reading experience that blurs the lines between past and present, genius and insanity, perfect for fans of the smash hit Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children. Dan, Abby, and Jordan remain traumatized by the summer they shared in the Brookline asylum. Much as they'd love to move on, someone is determined to keep the terror alive, sending the teens photos of an old-timey carnival, with no note and no name. Forsaking their plan never to go back, the teens return to New Hampshire College under the guise of a weekend for prospective students, and there they realize that the carnival from the photos is not only real, it's here on campus, apparently for the first time in many years. Sneaking away from sample classes and college parties, Dan and his friends lead a tour of their own—one through the abandoned houses and hidden places of the surrounding town. Camford is hiding a terrible past, and the influence of the asylum runs deeper than Dan ever imagined.

Article Out Of Books Sanctum (Asylum #2)
It was a great addition to the series. As with the first book, it was a quick and easy read. The pictures were amazing, but it still didn't really have that scare factor. Although it was more so with this one than with Asylum. The twists and turns in the mystery part of the story was great as well and I really didn't see it coming. Some of the story was in my opinion a bit far fetched and even the things the characters guess seem to be reaching. Still it was fun and entertaining to read. I would

I read Asylum last year and I rated it a 5 stars because of unexpected twists and turns. Most importantly, I felt creepy when I read that book. But now, I'm disappointed by the sequel. The story of Sanctum continues after Dan Crawford, Abby and Jordan went back home after attending the New Hampshire College Prep, a summer program. They thought they're able to move on after what happened at the Brookline asylum. Everything changes when they receive creepy photos and a clue to help them solve the

Sanctum is the sequel to the book Asylum in the Asylum series, a YA Horror collection. I really enjoyed reading the book, I thought that the carnival scenario throughout the story held my interest and circuses do interest me when things aren't quite as they seem. Dan, Abby and Jordan all reunite in this book which takes place again at the Brookline Asylum. All of three of them have received in the mail photographs that send shivers up spines. To solve the mystery of what actually these

Ohhh I'm so happy to say that this sequel didn't have the "sequel curse" on it. It was just as good as the first.Let's go back to the first book really quick....Asylum is where we first meet Dan Crawford, Abby and Jordan. 3 unlikely teens to meet and become fast friends. Dan a History buff, particularly interested in psychiatry. Abby the artist and Jordan the math genius. They all meet in New Hampshire over the summer for a college prep summer course. They quickly find out bad things happen at

This was a fun, creepy, and quick read. Sanctum is the second novel in a YA series called Asylum, it follows a group of friends who seek to uncover dark secrets from the past. Each of the novels in this series contain eerie pictures to help carry the plot along. I particularly love books that have this format because I'm a very visual person. I'm excited to read the third one, but will be waiting until October/Halloween time because this book series is perfect for that.

A great sequel to Asylum this book was a quick easy read that had me reading quickly to figure out what the hell was happening. With its creepy pictures this makes for a nice spooky read.

What better way to scare us than clowns.Review to come
